It is with a very heavy heart that unfortunately we have had to make the hard decision to cancel this year's Two Counties Events.
It is with a very heavy heart that unfortunately we have had to make the hard decision to cancel this year's Two Counties Events.
To date we only have 22 entries for the events with the vast majority being deferrals from last year. We appreciate that people are being understandably cautious about entering events, and we have also lost our valuable promotion opportunities at parkrun. In addition, there are a number of major events now on the same weekend which a large number of club members and potential entrants are committed to.

We always knew that putting the event on came with some risks. However as a small running club we cannot now justify some of the significant financial outlay that we would need to commit to without any guarantee of securing sufficient entries to cover our costs. Despite contacting a number of local companies we have only received offers of sponsorship from club members for which we are grateful.

Two Counties half marathon is organised by Desborough & Rothwell Running Club, a club run by runners for runners, an ethos that has remained at the forefront of our minds when we began organising this event.
The race starts from East Carlton park and is run on open roads taking in the picturesque countryside of North Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire, hence the name Two Counties.
All participants will get the benefit of chip timing, an officially measured and accredited course, enthusiastic marshals situated around the course to keep you safe and cheer you on plus finishers will get a large and unique finishers medal, tech t-shirt, a goody bag and a well deserved sense of achievement.
Now in our 4th year, we're delighted to add 10k to our popular Half Marathon & 5k (ish) Relay options. So, now that we have all the distances covered, what are you waiting for? Don't miss out! Book now to join us in 2021...
